I am a believer of the Chinese astrology, because it has been the most accurate for me. The characteristic attributes of the animals signs very much coincide with me and people I know. It gave more depth of information about how I perceive the world around me and the compatibility with others. So, it doesn’t hurt to keep your mind open to other sources of information, you just might be greatly surprised with the results if you give it a chance. May the year of the horse be filled with prosperity and joy for all!
That is the question I ponder the most when I cook chili. It is also the most debated in my household. Everyone seems to have a die-hard, fanatical approach to their chili-style. To suggest any other way would be akin to asking them to rip one of their eyes out. So, what’s a gal to do? How to please them all? Well, it’s an impossible feat to appease them all, so I don’t! The only way I get over that hurdle is to just ignore them and let the spicy, melt-in-your-mouth beans seduce them. I just can’t have chili without the beans. I think they provide just the right foundation for chili to stand alone as a complete dish. It might as well be called sloppy joes when done without the beans. So, yeah…I’m a fanatic too!
BRRRHHHH! It’s so cold now that now my nose is just as red as Rudolf’s. After a long day in the coldest of elements, a hot soup is just what Dr. Mom recommends. And I couldn’t agree more. Of course, chicken soup is at the top of list, but after a while, my memory tends to fog up trying to remember what other soup I can create just to mix it up a bit. So, after a quick online search, I found the recipe Chinese Chicken and Rice Soup. With just a few different ingredients, the chicken soup base was transformed to a bowl of exquisitely blended exotic spices that engulfed my senses with every taste. This dish paired with antioxidant packed Organo Gold Green Tea is the perfect one-two punch to keep the cold and cold bugs at bay!
Although it may not be the beginning of the new year, the first of December is for me the start of reflection. Am I in the place I dreamed, even wished upon a star for, now? Definitely not. Is that entirely my fault? Yes, since my decisions have led to me this point. Do I believe there is always room for a positive change? Most definitely! That’s the beauty and comfort of hope. Nothing stays the same forever. So, I’m not going to beat myself up over the past, instead I’ll take this last month as a jumpstart to my goals, which one of them is a healthy diet. I’m looking forward to learning and sharing new methods of cooking, recipes and nutritional products. Change is good, but also scary. We have one life to live, so let’s live it up!
What calories? Fat content? Portion size? Please, those thoughts will not even cross my mind on Thanksgiving Day. Family, friends and sharing good eats is what it is all about. Reflect on the positive, and if in a bad spot, tell those thoughts to go hell. At least for one day it won’t have center stage.
Will I have seconds? Yes, don’t mind if I do. Thank you much! Besides all the usual trimmings, this year I will be adding macaroni and cheese. Since the turkey will be taking up oven time this mac & cheese will be stove top so optimal creamy cheesiness will be hot and ready to serve. So, just relax, shoot the breeze and fill up. I sure will! Happy Thanksgiving to all.
There’s nothing better than a cold iced-drink when temps rise as sunny California soaks up the rays even in late November. But getting it from a popular coffee chain can be a slow torturous twist in time when the line just snarls to halt with just one indecisive customer. So, how do I beat the wait game? I use Organo Gold Gourmet Café Latte. I just mix one packet, pour it in to my reusable beverage tumbler, and then add ice, if in the mood some whip on top, too. In less than 3 minutes I’m ready to delve into icy bliss.
It is that wonderful time of the year with Thanksgiving Day almost here that those delicious, warm and decadent visions of food start to fill my head and make my mouth water. So just about now, the warm crumble of sugar cookies with my favorite mocha is a delightful treat that can be enjoyed anytime.
I would like to share with you my favorite best gourmet mocha drink I’ve had the pleasure to discover, with which I pair with those good old fashioned sugar cookies. Organo Gold Gourmet Mocha is packaged perfectly for a serving of optimal flavor blend of cocoa and coffee. It definitely stands on its own as a dessert in a cup.
But by including sugar cookies, it just transports me to cloud nine where my senses are indulged with those warm, delicious flavors. Try it out, or change up the dessert with what you like best, so you too can be transported to cloud nine. Enjoy!
